Program

$35/day + 1 x $7 CMNC term student fee and online booking fees

C.A.M.P (no, not actual camping) is run for 5 days each school holidays and is a creative arts program for kids. The next one will be January 7-11 2019. Students are able to register for any or all of the days. Drop off from 8:45am (classes start at 9am) and pick up at 3:00 pm. Parents are welcome to come in and meet the tutors prior to the commencement of classes. Students must be signed in and out by an accompanying adult.

 

In between classes there will be a morning tea break and a lunch break. Food is not supplied so please bring your own food and water bottle each day (no nuts please). We do have a refrigerator on site to use if needed. 

 

To enrol in the workshops please click the Register Now button above. You will be taken to an online booking system, where you can register your details. Payment should be made online by the Sunday before the first day of C.A.M.P. If online payment is not possible, please email us to make other payment arrangements. Once registered, an email will be sent containing the enrolment form which must be given to staff at registration on the first day. Registration can only be accepted via the online booking system. 

The workshops are $35 each day or if you attend all week you pay $150 (there are additional online booking fees of a few dollars) plus a one off $7 Conservatorium of Music student fee per term). Registrations close the Sunday before the first day of C.A.M.P, however there is the possibility of "drop-ins" depending on numbers each day. 

Visual Arts

The Visual Arts program will provide fun and engaging creative activities for the week including:

Monday- Paint day! We'll be designing a real door painted with our values of C.A.M.P. including words and design on how we treat friends and want to be treated. Bumper stickers will be created to take home too. *WARNING* we will be splatter painting so DO NOT wear nice clothes! and bring an apron/old shirt to wear over clothes.

Tuesday- Famous Artist Totem Poles with BIG tubes. Students will work in teams to create a large totem pole per group then act out on stage. Students will decorate their own paper towel roll artist to take home.

Wednesday- Clay day! Students will create a sculpture based on their ideas of our C.A.M.P community.

Thursday- Your Stilts! Kids will create their own complimentary coloured stilts out of large formula tins and play a game called "Your Stilts" on stage.

Friday- Art & music! Kids will read Say Zoop! by Herve Tullet. then work together to create a group book using finger paint and sounds. The kids will create their own artwork to take home using primary and secondary colours- *WARNING* we will be doing finger painting- do not wear nice clothes.

Students should bring an old shirt or apron to wear over their clothes. All other supplies and materials will be provided. 

Drama with Bianca

 

Learn and play fun drama games which develop improvisation and acting skills and additionally build performance confidence.  Students will also experience scriptwriting, playbuilding, improvisation and performance. 

Monday - Playbuilding - We will work on how to build a play from scratch and then perform some group plays to each other

Tuesday - Characterisation - students will experiment with different physical and personality traits and learn how to build a character layer by layer

Wednesday - Film - In small groups, students will write, shoot, direct, act in and edit their own short films.

Thursday - Sock puppet theatre - Hands, socks, a stage, and some kooky characters!

Friday - Improvisation. Not only is improvised theatre a whole lot of fun, it also is a great confidence and esteem booster for kids and adults alike!
